Life Coach Training
by Diane Linsley

I offer life coach training for people who are either thinking about
becoming coaches or who are already working as coaches and
want to add more skills to their existing toolbox.

You can get an idea of what I provide by reading the articles in the
Coaching Tools section. I also recommend reading articles in the
other sections. This website is a gold mine of information and resources for coaches and clients alike.

Every coach is a unique individual with their own interests and talents. Because of this, I do not have a pre-planned program. We decide together how to proceed with each session. The work is intuitive and cooperative. How many sessions we hold depends on how deeply you want to go.

Examples of Personalized Coach Training

Here are some examples of what I've done with other coaches to give you an idea of what is possible.

An experienced coach was intrigued by the Voice Dialogue process. We held several sessions during which we explored different voices. Because of her strong intuitive abilities, she learned very quickly and was able to bring Voice Dialogue into her own coaching practice.

A Law of Attraction coach was frustrated because Law of Attraction alone wasn't enough to help her and her clients. We did Inner Child work, emotional processing and Tonglen. This gave her more tools to use for personal growth.

A young man saw a future in life coaching. During the many months that we worked together, I taught him Law of Attraction processes, Voice Dialogue and dreamwork. I introduced him to the basic concepts of cognitive development, and we practiced energy work and meditation. He is now starting his own practice and finding his niche.

A beginning coach worked with me while simultaneously completing a certification program elsewhere. He wanted to experience working one-on-one with a coach to get some perspective. I also taught him a few processes to add to his growing toolbox.

Other coaches work with me for their own personal growth, which helps them become better coaches.

My Basic Way of Coaching

I firmly believe that every client is a unique individual who benefits from individualized coaching. This is why the question, "What is your program?" seems absurd to me. The one-size-fits-all program doesn't work. It's too easy to hide behind processes and programs, expecting clients to fit the mold. If the program fails, the coach may blame the client.

My primary goal as a coach is to help people become more conscious. I can only do this by knowing the client as much as they will allow me to, and then applying my skills and intuition to help them take the next step in their development.

I usually start by asking the client to take two different personality tests. This gives me an idea of how to work with them. Then we delve into their current problems, exploring how they got there by looking at their life history. We discuss their values and goals, and I teach them how to process emotions. We use Law of Attraction processes based on the emotional scale, and we do Voice Dialogue to help them integrate their shadow. We work with the Inner Critic, the Inner Child, and other voices. We also do dreamwork, energy work, and other processes as needed.

I believe that compassion for self and others is the natural outcome of deep self-exploration. I've had clients who previously spent years in therapy tell me that the work I did with them was more powerful and life-changing than anything they experienced before.

You can't put this into a standardized program. Every coaching session with a client is a surprise. We go to places I never expected because this is their work. I'm just here to support and lead them as deeply as they have the courage to go. Everything is done intuitively in the moment. I do not enter coaching sessions with a plan for what I think the client should do. I let the client tell me what is happening in their life today. My job is to choose the best way to approach the subject. This requires me to set aside my own ego preferences and focus on the client.

If what I've written resonates with you, and you feel drawn to a deeply intuitive, psycho-spiritual approach, then you may benefit from working with me.

Do You Need Certification?

The short answer is no. Anyone can call themselves a coach without being certified. There are no legal requirements. I have taught both certified and uncertified coaches.

I chose to become certified because I needed a structured program at that time in my life. I spent over a year in the Quantum Success Coaching Academy, and I recommend this program to beginning coaches who are interested in Law of Attraction.

It may look impressive to have certification and credentials, but most clients don't care. What the client wants is a skillful and compassionate coach who understands them. It's not what you know, but who you are that matters. As you work with clients, inevitably making mistakes in the learning process, you will become a better coach. Intuition, empathy and humility are good character traits to have.

Getting Started with Life Coach Training

If you are interested in life coach training, please send me an email explaining what you would like to learn. It's not necessary to know your niche if you haven't figured it out yet.

Since I like to end every article with a meditation, here is a guided meditation for codependency that I learned in the coaching academy. Overcoming codependency is essential for being a good coach.

Be well,
